Farlatch

Farlatch

Offline control for your authorized gate system.

Gate access stays with your site

Farlatch connects an authorized phone or tablet to compatible gate-control boards over Bluetooth. A site can use LoRa to carry commands between its indoor and outdoor boards. Normal gate operation does not require an internet connection.

Downloading the app does not grant gate access. A site administrator must approve each device. This release supports the existing two-node setup; generic owner setup and larger networks are planned features.

Android, iPhone and iPad

Android and iOS source is available to our development team. iPhone testing and store review are in progress; public store download links will be added when available. Compatible controller hardware and site authorization are required.

Support

Contact jerry@tradesmatepro.com. Include your app version, phone/tablet model, board firmware version and whether you connect to the office or gate board. Never send administrator PINs, invitation QR codes, access credentials, private keys or device flash backups.

Understand command feedback

A cycle command asks the opener to perform its next action, which may open, stop or close the gate. A software output acknowledgment does not verify relay wiring, contact closure or actual gate position. A lost reply may mean the outcome is unknown; do not repeatedly send commands without checking the gate.

Independent safety protection

Farlatch is an access-control accessory, not an obstruction sensor or emergency-stop system. Keep the opener’s required safety devices, keypad and other independent controls installed and functional. Operate only when the gate area is clear and the installation permits safe operation.

Privacy and site data

The current app does not require a Kentrix cloud account. Credentials and preferences are stored on your device; the site’s boards store permissions and limited access/admin event records. Site administrators manage access to their own installation.
